◎ Biographical Information
Peter Kang was born in Korea but immigrated to Brazil as a coffee farmer in 1963 and finally immigrating to the U.S. in 1969. His family was among the first Koreans to ever arrive in Brazil. He later came to the US, residing in Colorado and Chicago, before settling with his parents in California in 1973. His father and family friends planted Young Nak Presbyterian Church of Los Angeles in the early 1970s.
Peter studied finance and accounting, becoming a CFO and CEO,
and has been in banking industry for thirty years. He came to Christ
at the age of eighteen during a choir retreat at the church. He loves
all sports and has been married to Christina for twenty eight years.
Christina also went to Brazil in 1966 but moved to U.S. in 1977 to
attend Julliard School of Music, where she studied orchestral
conducting.
After marrying Peter, they both committed their lives to
ministry and have now traveled to over forty countries for missions.
They are both ordained and are family ministers at All Nations Church of
LA (Onnuri Church of LA). They specialize in family counseling, family
therapy, pastoral and missionary counseling and leadership
development. They both received their PhDs from Fuller Theological
Seminary.
Kang is an Adjunct Professor at Fuller Theological Seminary,
and Dean of Family Studies and Mission at Juarez Seminary, Mexico.
Dr.
Peter Kang has researched on Inner Healing for Korean American Families
and Dr. Christina Kang has researched on Korean American Leadership
also serves as Professor of Leadership at Juarez Seminary in Mexico. Dr.Peter and Christina Kang both speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and Korean.
They have two wonderful children; Matthew is a banker and a food journalist as hobby and Michelle currently attends college.
