과목 개요

한국교회는 세계선교의 가장 역동적인 세력들 가운데 하나이다. 이 강의는 세계선교의 가장 큰 세력들 가운데 하나인 한국교회가 일제식민통치 하에서, 독립 이후에, 그리고 오늘날에 이르기 까지 어떻게 선교운동을 전개해 왔는가를 추적할 것이다.

학습 결과

이 과정을 통하여 학생들은 다음과 같은 학습 결과들을 기대할 수 있을 것이다:

강의 형식

본 강의는 5일간의 집중 강의로 하루 8시간씩 총 40시간의 강의로 이루어진다. 주로 교수의 강의와 주제와 관련된 학생들의 토의 참여, 그리고 한국교회의 선교와 관련된 동영상들을 관람하고 배운 바를 보고 한다.

Course Description:

Fall 2019 / Pasadena MH541/MK741 Korean Mission History (4/8 Units) Timothy K. Park, Ph.D. Senior Professor of Asian Mission

The Korean is one of the most dynamic forces of the world mission today. This course traces how the Korean church has carried on missionary work during Japanese colonial rule, after independence, and until today.

Student Learning Outcomes:

The following learning outcomes are expected through this course:

  1. Students will understand the mission of the mission of God and the participation of the

    Korean Church in God’s mission (MA PLO 1; DMin PLO 1)

  2. Students will understand the reality and distinctiveness of the Korean mission (MA PLO

    3; DMin PLO 2)

  3. Students will be encouraged to use the unique assets of the Korean mission in their

    ministries (MA PLO 2,4; DMin PLO 3)

  4. Students will understand the importance of discipleship in doing partnership ministry for

    the coming of the kingdom of God (MA PLO5; DMin PLO 4)

Course Format

This course is one-week intensive course (40 hours) from Monday to Friday, 08:00 am to 5:00 pm. Professor’s lectures, students’ group discussion, and reflection on videos watched in relation to the Korean mission.
