DESCRIPTION: This course is a study in the planting
and development of missionary churches. The purpose of this course is to
provide cross-cultural Christian workers theories and practices of planting
healthy, dynamic, and reproducible indigenous churches in cross-cultural
setting. LEARNING OUTCOME Upon successful
completion of this course, students will understand 1) the role
of the church in the process of evangelization of the world, 2) the principles
and practice of cross-cultural church planting, and 3) practical how of planting and development of healthy
and reproducible indigenous churches in cross-cultural settings.. COURSE
FORMAT: This is one-week intensive course. The
daily format includes professor’s lectures on the areas listed above and class

ASSIGNMENTS: The course grade is dependent upon class
attendance (10%), reflections (10%), reading reports (30%), and a research
paper (50%). Reading reports (MA—1,200
pages, ThM—1,750 pages and DMin—2,400 pages. A case study of cross-cultural
church planting (a 15-page typed, 1.5-spaced paper): MA--15 pages, ThM --20
pages, and DMin 25 pages. Reading reports (from the books listed above) are due
the last week of the quarter. Details may be found in the course syllabus. PREREQUISITES: None. RELATIONSHIP
