과목의 개요(Course Description)
신약개론은 기독교적 실천을 돕기 위해 다양한 문학적, 역사적, 신학적 상황에 비추어 신약성경을 개관하고 신약성경 해석의 기초를 제공하는 과목이다.
New Testament Introduction orients students to the literature of the New Testament in its various literary, historical, and theological contexts and to New Testament interpretation in service of Christian practice.
과목의 학습 목표(Learning Outcomes)
이 과목을 성공적으로 마쳤을 때 학생들은:
(1) 신약성경의 문학과 역사, 신학에 대한 개론적 지식을 습득하게 되고
(2) 어떤 특정한 신약성경 본문들과 관련하여 제기될 수 있는 다양한 질문들(예, 역사적, 문학적, 정경적)을 알게 되고 그 본문들을 해석하는 과정에서 이 질문들에 대한 답을 찾아가는 훈련을 하게 되며
(3) 신약성경 자료들의 다양한 상황과 현대 해석자들의 다양한 상황에 대해 설명할 수 있게 되며
(4) 신약성경을 신실한 기독교적 실천을 함양하는 방식으로 읽을 수 있게 될 것이다.
Having successfully completed this course students will have demonstrated that they:
have an introductory knowledge of the literature, history, and theology of the New Testament;
can identify a range of questions (e.g., historical, literary, canonical) that might be addressed to particular New Testament texts and can explore those questions in the process of interpreting particular New Testament texts;
are able to take into account the varied contexts of both the biblical materials and their contemporary interpreters;
can read the New Testament in ways that foster faithful Christian practice.
과목의 형태와 구성 (Course Format)
이 과목은 1쿼터 동안 매주 3시간 30분간, 총 35시간 강의실 수업으로 진행되며, 나머지 5시간은 온라인 포럼에 참여하는 등의 학습활동으로 이루어진다.
The course meets once per week for three and a half hour session over the ten week quarter for a total of 35 hours of classroom instruction for lectures and regular discussion plus 5 hours of directed learning activities such as engaging in forums, etc.
