Biographical Information

Enoch J. Kim is serving as affiliate professor and academic mentor in SIS Korean Studies.

Enoch was born in Korea. He has an engineering background in his education of B.A., M.A. During his graduate studies, he ministered in a church and served as a campus minister, planting a fellowship group at a new campus. As he finished his master's degree, he found that God called him and his wife, Sarah, as missionaries to Muslims in China. Before they went to China, Enoch worked in a sending base office for two years as a staff member and developed several candidate training programs.

In China, Enoch and Sarah joined the Frontiers church planting team in a Chinese northwestern city. During the furlough, Enoch studied at Fuller Theological Seminary in the School of World Mission, earning an MA in Cross-Cultural Studies. This later became the basis for his further work and research in China. After he finished his MA degree, Enoch launched the Cross-Cultural Training Center, a missionary training center for Chinese locals. He developed curriculums and trained both missionary candidates and career missionaries while developing his credibility with the local leaders. He also developed new campus ministries for Chinese. While doing ministry in the mission field, he finished Ph.D. in missiology with the dissertation title: Receptor-Oriented Communication for Hui Muslims in China: with Special Reference to Church Planting. Enoch is currently a full member of both GMF's HOPE and Frontiers Mission, and a Research Associate in Fruitful Practice Research Team.
